A. Ballet

 

* This competition allows in costumes and make-up in the Preliminaries, Semi-final and Final competition. 

Preliminaries(Video Screening)

1. PrejuniorⅠ(Solo)  One solo variation / There will be a ballet class

2. Prejunior Ⅱ(Solo)  One solo variation / There will be a ballet class

3. Junior (Solo)  Two solo variation

4. Senior (Solo)  Two solo variation

5. Senior (Couple)  One pas de deux

Semi-final

1. Prejunior I (Solo)  Solo Variation 1 same as preliminaries

2. Prejunior II (Solo)  Solo Variation 1 same as preliminaries and Solo Variation 1 as different with preliminaries

3. Junior (Solo)  Solo Variation 2 same as preliminaries

4. Senior (Solo)  Solo Variation 2 same as preliminaries

5. Senior (Couple)  One pas de deux same as preliminaries

Final

1. Pre-junior I (Solo)  Solo Variation 1 same as preliminaries & semi-final 

2. Pre-junior II (Solo)  Solo Variation 2 same as preliminaries and semi-final 

3. Junior (Solo)  Solo Variation 1 same as preliminaries and semi-final Solo Variation 1 which is different with preliminaries and semi-final 

4. Senior (Solo)  Solo Variation 1 same as semi-final Solo Variation 1 which is different with preliminaries and semi-final Free Contemporary 1(2~3minutes) 

5. Senior (Couple)  Solo Variation 1 which is different with preliminaries and semi-final Solo Variation 1 Same as Pas de deux you performed in the Semi- final Free Contemporary 1(2~3minutes) 

* Senior(couple) participants are required to perform their senior(solo) program in the final competition.

B.Contemporary Dance

 

* This competition allows in costumes and make-up in the Preliminaries, Semi-final and Final competition. 

Preliminaries(Video Screening)

1. Prejunior Ⅱ(Solo)  One work (within 4 min.)

3. Senior (Solo)  One work (within 4 min.)

4. Senior (Couple)  One work (within 5-8min.)

  * There are no limitations on the theme or the style of dance.

 

Semi-final

2. Junior (Solo)  One work (within 4 min.) / One designated work 

3. Senior (Solo)  One work (within 4 min.) / One designated work

4. Senior (Couple)  One work (within 5-8min.) / One designated work

<Notice for Contemporary Dance Participants>

 1. It is possible to change your dance performance and music between Preliminaries and semi-final.

 2. Couple particitants are judged as one team. However, each participants should submit a registration form.

 3. Couples comprised of different genders should select on e sex when filling in registration form(check either Male or Female in the sex distinction box) and should perform the Designated Work belinging to the selected gender group. 

 4. Semi-finalists and Finalists cannot change their partners. 

 5. The award certificate carries both particitants‘ names and the prize money is worth of one person’s. 

 6. Couples‘ being considered as one team, should pay application fee of one person. 

 

C. Ethnic Dance

 

* This competition allows in costumes and make-up in the Preliminaries, Semi-final and Final competition.

* Traditional Ethnic Dance

· Participants should perform one of the following dances. 
Salpuri choom / Taepyeongmu / Seungmu / Hallyangmu / A dance desighated as Korea‘s major intangible cultural property or municipally-designated intagible property / A solo dance from Korea court dance / A solo dance from Myeongjackmu (Masterpiece) designated by the Dance Association of Korea / North Korean Dance / Ethnic dance of any country

 

 

<Notice for Ethnic Dance Participants>

 1. Creative dance is available to change your dance performance and music between Preliminaries and semi-final 
 2. Ethnic Dance(buddhist dance) : The drum have to managed by participant and available to move it in the fixed time which is        scheduled by operator. 
 3. Couples comprised of different genders should select on e sex when filling in registration form(check either Male or Female in the sex distinction box) and should perform the Designated Work belinging to the selected gender group. 
 4. Semi-finalists and Finalists cannot change their partners. 
 5. The award certificate carries both particitants‘ names and the prize money is worth of one person’s. 
 6. Couples‘ being considered as one team, should pay application fee of one person. 

D. Choreography Award 

Classification

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Seoul International Dance Competition has produced highly qualified dancers thanks to the participation of excellent dancers from all over the world in the process of repeating years. This competition positively recognises the value of the artists’ choreographic work and encourages their creative motivation. In order to promote the popularization of dance art and international leaping, this competition aims to provide a wide variety of scholarship benefits and opportunities to expand the capability of the dancers.  

2. The major criterion of the Choreography Award is creativity and the construction of the work. The award includes a Gold Prize, a Silver Prize and a Bronze Prize in each category. 
 
3. The Grand Prix in the Choreography Award is given to the choreographer written on the applicant’s document, and all of the group members’ names are inscribed. 
 
4. Participant can compete in both the dance competition and choreography categories. 
 
5. The top prize winner of the Choreography Award is given the opportunity to perform in the festivals of the world ethnic dance, ballet, and contemporary dance.

<Notice for Choreography Award Participants>

1. Participants have to choose one young choreographer or one professional choreographer according to the age classification. 
2. After passing the preliminary competition, the work cannot change; however, it is possible to show the developmental stage and progress in the same work. 
3. Group participants are judged as one team. 4. Group participants are decided by their ranking and awards combined with solo participants according to the selected sex on participants’ applications. 5. If group participants are awarded, all participants’ names are inscribed on the award certificate.  6. If group participants are awarded, the prize money is given to the group. 7. Group participants should pay the application fee for one person.  8. The work of an individual category and the work of the choreography category cannot be the same.  

*Important Notice  
1. Juries reserve the right to withhold any award in each genre/category, including the Grand Prix.  
2. Special Prizes can be awarded according to the decision of the juries.  
3. In the event of a joint award, the subsequent award will not be awarded.   
4. Each finalist receives a Finalist Certificate.
